Colors: Blue, Orange, Green, Red.

Green and Orange both take the long way here. Green wraps across the whole top row and down the left edge, while Orange loops around the bottom-right corner. The board teaches two ideas, a corner cell that a path must pass through and a first bit of thinking ahead to keep Blue from being cut off.

Hints

Hint 1: where to look

Look at the top-right corner, at row 1, column 5.

Hint 2: the first idea

That corner cell has only two usable neighbors, so a path must pass straight through it. Green's right-hand dot is one of those neighbors, so Green turns up into the corner and starts left along the top row.

Hint 3: the key step

Orange's dot at row 2, column 4 can go left or down. Going left would cut Blue off from its partner, so Orange goes down and loops around the bottom-right corner.

Techniques used: Forced moves, Edges and corners, Bottlenecks.

Step-by-step walkthrough

Every step below follows from the rules alone, with no guessing. Try the puzzle first and use the walkthrough when you get stuck.

  1. Step 1 of 4

Two dots in the bottom-left corner have only one open side each. Orange steps right from row 5, column 2, and Red steps up from the corner into row 4, column 1.

  2. Step 2 of 4

The top-right corner at row 1, column 5 has only two usable neighbors, so a path has to pass straight through it. One of them is Green's dot just below, so Green climbs into the corner and runs left two cells along the top row.

  3. Step 3 of 4

Now think ahead with Orange's dot at row 2, column 4. If it goes left, Blue is cut off from its partner, so Orange drops down, jogs right to the edge and runs down and along the bottom row to its other end. Blue then has only one open side and runs left one and up column 3 into its upper dot. Green finishes the top row, comes down the left edge and turns into its dot at row 3, column 2.

  4. Step 4 of 4

Red's path now sits right beside its other dot at row 4, column 2, so the two ends join and the board is complete.
