Puzzle #2
Morning Mist
5 × 5Beginner5 colorsPublished October 8, 2026
Blue and Green both wrap around the outside of this board, Blue up the left edge and Green up the right edge and across the top. Red winds through the middle in a hook from the bottom row up to row 2. Every move is forced, so the whole board comes down to spotting dots with only one open side.

Hints
Hint 1: where to look
Look at Blue's dot in the bottom-left corner and Green's dot on the right edge.
Hint 2: the first idea
Blue's corner dot has Red beside it, so it can only climb the left edge. Green's right-edge dot is boxed in by the two Purple dots and can only go up.
Hint 3: the key step
Purple closes up through row 5, column 4, which sends Red right one and then up column 3. After that, Blue and Green each finish by wrapping around a top corner.
Techniques used: Forced moves.
Step-by-step walkthrough
Every step below follows from the rules alone, with no guessing. Try the puzzle first and use the walkthrough when you get stuck.
Step 1 of 5
Blue's bottom-left dot has only one open side, and so does the cell above it, so Blue climbs two cells up the left edge. Green's dot on the right edge is boxed in by the two Purple dots and moves up one.
Step 2 of 5
Red's bottom dot now has only one open side and steps right into row 5, column 3. Purple's lower dot does the same in the other direction, stepping left into row 5, column 4 and joining its partner above.
Step 3 of 5
With Purple in place, Red has only one way to go and climbs two cells up column 3. Orange's lower dot can only step up into row 3, column 2, which joins it to its upper dot.
Step 4 of 5
Both edge colors now finish around the top. Blue climbs the rest of the left edge into the corner and turns right into its top dot. Green climbs to the top-right corner, runs left along row 1 and drops into its dot at row 2, column 3.
Step 5 of 5
One cell is left, at row 3, column 4. Red's upper dot steps down into it and meets the rest of its path, which completes the board.
