Colors: Blue, Orange, Green, Red, Purple, Brown, Pink, Gray, Lime, Cyan, Yellow.

Green is the long path on this board. It starts at row 2, column 4, runs along the top row, down the whole right edge and back along the bottom row to its dot in the left column. Most moves are chains of single exits, with two squeezed cells in the top-left and two short checks for Blue and Purple.

Hints

Hint 1: where to look

Start on the left edge, where Brown, Purple and Green have dots stacked in rows 7 to 9.

Hint 2: the first idea

The cells at row 1, column 1 and row 1, column 3 each have only two usable neighbors, so Blue and Orange must pass through them. Blue then runs straight down the left edge, because turning right would cut Brown off.

Hint 3: the key step

At row 6, column 3, Purple has to climb instead of going right, or it gets cut off from its partner. That leaves Brown a single route up column 2 and along row 3 to its dot.

Techniques used: Forced moves, Edges and corners, Bottlenecks.

Step-by-step walkthrough

Every step below follows from the rules alone, with no guessing. Try the puzzle first and use the walkthrough when you get stuck.

  1. Step 1 of 10

Three dots sit stacked on the left edge in rows 7 to 9, and each has only one open side. Green drops into the bottom-left corner and runs right along the bottom row to column 5. Purple steps right and turns up into row 7, Cyan steps right and turns up into row 8, and Brown climbs one cell and turns right into row 6.

  2. Step 2 of 10

Each of these paths still has only one open side. Purple runs right and climbs to row 6, column 3, and Cyan bends up to row 7, column 4, right beside its other dot. Brown climbs to row 5, Blue steps up from its lower dot to row 4, and Pink heads right from its lower dot along row 9.

  3. Step 3 of 10

The forced moves carry on along the bottom. Green extends to column 9 of the bottom row. Lime leaves its lower dot, turns up and reaches row 7, column 7, just under its other dot. Pink runs along row 9, then steps up into row 8 and heads right to column 8.

  4. Step 4 of 10

Yellow has only one open side, so it steps right and up to join its partner at row 7, column 9. Green rounds the bottom-right corner and climbs the right edge to row 6. Pink climbs to row 6, column 8, and Lime's two ends now touch, so Lime connects.

  5. Step 5 of 10

Look at the top-left corner. The cell at row 1, column 1 has only two usable neighbors, so a path must pass straight through it, and Blue is one of them. Blue leaves its upper dot, turns the corner and runs down the edge to row 3. The cell at row 1, column 3 is squeezed the same way, so Orange steps left into it and drops to row 2.

  6. Step 6 of 10

Blue now sits at row 3, column 1 with a choice. Turning right fails because Brown would be cut off from its partner. So Blue continues down the edge and connects its two ends.

  7. Step 7 of 10

Thinking ahead at row 6, column 3, Purple can go right or up. Going right cuts Purple off from its partner in the top-right, so Purple climbs two cells. Brown is left with one open side and runs up column 2 and along row 3 to its dot at row 3, column 6. Orange's ends now touch and connect, Green swings up from its upper dot and along the top row, and Purple turns right along row 4.

  8. Step 8 of 10

More single-exit moves follow in the middle. Red steps right from both of its dots, and Green reaches row 1, column 8. Purple drops to row 5 and runs right to column 7. Gray drops from its upper dot and turns right to connect with its partner at row 6, column 6.

  9. Step 9 of 10

Purple reaches row 5, column 8 and turns up to row 4. Pink bends right and climbs column 9 to its upper dot at row 3, column 9. Green climbs the right edge to row 4, and Red's lower half climbs to row 3, column 7.

  10. Step 10 of 10

The last cells close up. Green climbs the rest of the right edge and turns left along the top row to meet its other half at row 1, column 9. Purple steps left from its upper dot and drops down column 8 to join its path. Red's ends meet in column 7, and Cyan's ends touch and connect.
